Kevin A. Keenan is a founding partner of Keenan Communications Group, a social media, public relations, crisis communications and grassroots advocacy firm that opened in January 2012.� KCG is a division of the Buffalo lobbying concern, Masiello, Martucci, Calabrese and Associates.Keenan has extensive communications and broadcast experience.� He was director of the Office of Communications for the Diocese of Buffalo from 2000 to 2011, the first layperson to hold the position.� As communications director, he served as the chief spokesman for Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo.� KCG represents the diocese and Keenan continues in his role as chief communications counsel to the diocese. Keenan was editor-in-chief of the Western New York Catholic, the monthly diocesan newspaper, hosted radio and television programs produced by the diocese, and was responsible for several departments:� public relations, Daybreak TV Productions, diocesan radio production and the diocesan Catholic Directory.� Keenan led the diocese into social media, establishing Facebook and Twitter feeds for the Catholic Church. ����������� In 2008, Cardinal Edward Egan appointed Keenan to an at large position on the New York State Catholic Conference Public Policy Committee.� He is past chair of the diocesan communications directors of New York State. ����������� Before joining the diocese, Keenan spent 16 years at WBEN Radio in Buffalo.� He has also worked in radio and TV in Rochester and Olean and served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.� He is a certified USA Swimming official and was as a Neumann Catholic Swim League meet official.
